Country Blouse

Another blouse joins my short list of public wearables. I really like the sleeves, as indicated by the detail image. The front is rather flat and plain, so it would work better under a jumper if I can make a decent one. A vest might also work, or a large necklace, or a thick belt. Something must be done to visually break up my torso since there’s nothing volumetric happening.

That blouse is adorable on you just as it is. The sleeves are particularly attractive. Don't be so hard on yourself and your sewing !! IMO, you have many more wearables than you think.

What does IMO mean?

I don't text message, so I blame my inability to make accurate guesses at abbreviations on that, however it might have more to do with my brain in general. For a long time I thought LOL stood for "lots of love" and I felt very admired. I have the same problem deciphering license plates. I immediately read "SNST BCH" as "sinister b*tch" but Scott pointed out that it's more likely "Sunset Beach."

Anyway, thanks for the kind words regarding my blouse.

I have to agree with Anon above. I think the blouse looks lovely and you look marvelously slender. Don't feel you have to have tons of details on every piece of clothing - sometimes less makes something more versatile/wearable.

IMO means "in my opinion" in web-speak.

I meant to ask in my above post - is that a deer in the background?

Hi Anne,
Thanks for the info.
Yes, it is a deer.
I agree with your advice about adding too many details. I think people often add stuff to disguise problems that exist in the basic structure. Adornment is a poor substitute for design. It has been my habit to choose quantity over quality and by extension believe that "more is more." I'm working hard to quit it.

Keiler, I'm agreeing with these other posters...that blouse looks very nice on you. Volume is overrated.

I made this shirt too and I've always had a problem with it. Thanks for explaining what the problem was...too flat and nothing breaking up the visual. I think I'll try the necklace solution first. Thanks!
