Why I'm Not on Project Runway

In October we were invited to our friends' square dance themed wedding in a loft in Chicago. I didn't have anything to wear so I decided to make a dress. I ended up designing and making this the day of the wedding. Never before have I sewn to deadline. I had worked out the basic idea in scrap fabric a few days before. Something came up the day before the wedding, so my sewing time was reduced to one day. I know this dress looks very simple, but it is lined and it fits well, and it hinted just enough at square dance to make me fit in, while being wearable in the future for any occasion. I wore it with a vest and boots to the wedding.

Good to see you are still at it. I knit 5 hours on the way home from Minneapolis and my wrist just stopped hurting today. Grandma sew and sew passed away last month. I referenced the nickname and a few of our memories in a list Chris read at the service.

Anna, I sent you a card but I want to add that I've been thinking about your Grandma all week. I remember in particular the little sweater she made for one of your dolls. I think it was yellow with little lamb buttons. I coveted it. She was so talented and kind and intelligent. I remember how good she was as drawing too. I feel so lucky that I got to meet her.

Keiler, I love following along. I love this dress and wish I was thin enough to pill it off.

I'm a little late, but I am sorry to hear for your loss, Anna.

Your blog is thought provoking and intriguing. I would love to live in your city, and be able to shop at your Goodwill or Salvation Army or whatever. There must be some very happy people there. I would have snatched up the plaid jacket in less than a second. In some of your older posts, you use fabric with color, but it is obvious your favorite color is grey. I don't think grey is a very good color for you, at least, not all by itself, and not near your face. It is really obvious, in one of your older posts, where you wear a grey tank over a white shirt. I would like to see you put a little color near your face with your fabulous simple wardrobe. Everyone has their own view of themselves...but you are ANYTHING but plain.
