I knit most of this on the knitting machine, then did the shoulder & neck shaping, lace waistband, turtleneck and sleeve edges by hand. I didn't make the gray turtleneck undershirt I'm wearing here, but the jeans are the original pair I made in 2007 that got this whole project started. Yeah for me! I can get them on again.

I like how on your labels you've got "failure 14" "wearable 37" you know that's a pretty good success rate.
Sorry to hear about the jacket - the one I made on my tailoring course is too tight under the arms and I'm going to have to unpick and resew the arms and lining. That's about 3 hours work and not fun, any of it.
Your sweater looks lovely, and the screen printing t-shirt is so clever.
My success rate is a failure too! I got too discouraged to go back and label all the failures appropriately. They would out-number the wearables by three to one I think.
Slowing down is really helping me though. When I have unlimited free time I foolishly think I can afford to spend it on unlikely-to-be-good projects. Well, it wasn't a complete waste - it's an education.
I love your latest shirt dress! and as always - your honest thoughts on sewing. I feel the same guilt you do about making muslins - the horrible waste of fabric! I wanted to learn to sew to be able to fix old things and re-purpose whatever would be headed for the rag-bag. I've ruined so much fabric instead. I'm sorry earth!
