Dolls

Here it is, the middle of August and I’ve only posted one thing. Now I’m showing you something I made when I was a little girl because I still haven’t finished the jacket I’ve been working on all month. And don’t get your hopes up – it will look very unimpressive I’m afraid.

Looking back on the days of carefree sewing, my friend Anna and I shared an obsession with Cabbage Patch Kids. Mainly we made clothes for the dolls, but I think these were supposed to be dolls for our dolls to play with. I made the one on the left with the traditional dog dress and Anna made the little guy with the raised arms and silky pink vest. I find it interesting that I modeled the eyes and mouth after Cabbage Patch Kid features and Anna drew her nose that way, but my nose and her eyes and mouth are not like the dolls.

What a great memory you have. And you are so observant. I was quite surprised by the doll in the bag. I wouldn't have known it was mine if it weren't for our brand names we wrote on everything. What fun!
