Alpaca Sweater

I finished this sweater today. My mom bought the yarn (baby alpaca) and pattern and got up to the armpits on one side and gave up. I happily inherited the project. I was with her when she bought the yarn, and convinced her to get this color, insisting that it's one of the best choices against her skin tone. It happens to work well with mine and is my favorite non-gray color. Yesterday was probably the last day of the season cold enough to wear something like this. I did the exact same thing last year - ended a wool sweater just when temperatures cleared 30 for good.

I love the sweater! Oh, Ravelry. It's great, but it can be a serious time suck. Ask me how I know.

Thanks Carlene! I feel fat and fuzzy - in a good way, like a dog. It looks like you're knitting the Debbie Bliss cable sweater? I can't wait to see it finished. It looks so beautiful.

You look amazing in this sweater. I realize that I have been neglecting your blog for a while now, so I am playing catch up. Moose

I love the fact that is was a joint project with your mom. It turned out great.

Since I've be cruising around your blog more, you've become my hero...you can make bluejeans that fit! I'd love any tips you're willing to dole out.

Hi Corrine,

I've had success with jeans because I've made so many of them. Including the shorts versions, I've made 9 and 3 came out very well. I recommend the pattern from Sew U and I like to use denim with a bit of stretch. Maybe I'll do a tutorial some day.

What a great sweater!! Total success. I really like this length on you - it seems like you make most tops shorter. It's like a whole new Keiler. And are those store-bought jeans you're wearing?? Who ARE you????

Thanks Ann,

I should have people make more decisions for me.

Yes, these are store-bought jeans. I am very behind on my sewing and probably won't catch up until summer.

I'm on ravelry, too. It was a friend's suggestion. I haven't used it yet.
