Today is my last day in Wisconsin. My parents came back from Yellowstone and Scott and Crooky returned to Evanston yesterday. I mentioned earlier that my parents were in Yosemite, and it isn’t significant except that it’s typical for me to make that kind of mistake. It’s evidence of the fact that I have no idea where either park is, and I don’t pay enough attention to the details that I should when I’m taking care of someone’s home and dog. Nevertheless, it was a successful trip for them and me. The picture shows my last creation here, a blouse made from a Simplicity pattern ($7), six new buttons ($4.20), an old gray sheet ($1), and some very cool checked fabric that was given to me by Wendy Cooper, who until recently had a gallery in Chicago. I struck gold during this trip. Wendy gave me a huge stack of fabric, mainly vintage plaids and prints that I will use for dresses and blouses. I also acquired some great fabric from my mom and aunt, but I’ll discuss that after I’ve made some things from it. I love using things that people give me because it reminds me of them. It already comes with a little history before I put it to my own use. And I also love it because it’s free.

Keiler, one of the interesting aspects of your project is the "fashion photography." You seem to actually adopt the persona of a mannequin.
