I learned about your blog in this issue of fiber arts and made a point to look it up. While I am an admirer of the more traditional "wearable fiber art" I don't see why the definition should be so narrow. In my opinion, a well crafted simple garment is just as much a work of art as one with wild embellishments. During my foray into sewing I am learning that while I am drawn to some more elaborate patterns, I would really like to master the skills needed to make clothes that I would actually wear, i.e. simple, comfortable and inconspicuous, basically the things you make! I applaud your efforts and hope that I overcome my sewing anxieties (and penny pinching ways) and follow your lead.
I'm another who found your blog via the magazine article. I enjoy the process as much as the end result, and I like to read other people's journeys too. I've enjoyed reading your blog for the discoveries you've made along the way and the things you write about as much as the garments you end up with!
